For our customers, using Yebo Fresh means avoiding the hassle, cost, and risk of overcrowded and/or expensive transport, long queues, and carrying heavy bulk goods.


We engage with entrepreneurs, and our customers on our platform on a daily basis through field sales agents, supplying credit lines, having WhatsApp conversations, and organizing product deliveries.


These interactions allow us to build extensive qualitative and quantitative insights into the typical patterns, challenges, and critical success factors of township entrepreneurs. We are now keen to build on this physical & digital infrastructure and to use these insights.


We are building an ‘empowerment’ engine for South African entrepreneurs who, as we observe, often struggle in this highly competitive environment and to provide them with education and development opportunities.


Position - Training Supervisor:


What You Will Do


We are looking for a Training Supervisor to join the founding team of a startup project with national ambitions to bring breakthrough impact to the world of Entrepreneurs and small township businesses in education, funding, job creation, and support, in partnership with the National Treasury in their goal to address the challenge of unemployment in South Africa.


The goal is to unlock exponential Entrepreneur and Township SME growth with the corresponding impact by building an Entrepreneurial Development Program Platform that supports eCommerce and online entrepreneurial education to support retail financing models and business growth that results in scale which ultimately leads to job creation.


We are looking to create;


  • A more just and equitable society that depends upon more families and households having a stable income in the townships through entrepreneurship development by providing entrepreneurial learning content through coaching, online delivery, on-site training, peer learning, and networking

  • Growth of Township SMEs and growing livelihoods through adequate access to finance in the retail industry in collaboration with training and marketing

  • Entrepreneurial growth, scale, and support; we are seeking growth beyond traditional models, using technology to educate and through intelligent behavioral software and powerful entrepreneur technology support toolkits


In this role, we are looking for a motivating Training Supervisor who will guide the Field Facilitators on how to improve their skills and motivate them to deliver quality education, mentoring, and performance to Entrepreneurs. The candidate should have a good knowledge of various sales & training techniques and excellent communication skills.


Along with the responsibilities of mentoring entrepreneurs and new field agents, it will be the core responsibility of the supervisor to design individual and team training courses and prepare educational material to upskill both the team members and the entrepreneurs with the ultimate result being job creation and increased usage of the Yebo Fresh technology platforms.


Training Supervisors will also be responsible for the Core Customer Channel, their role is to manage this channel and ensure its continued growth and development.


We are looking for team members who have high energy, are competitive, and ambitious and have a track record of over-achieving and exceeding targets.


Key Role Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Onboard and train new hires.

  • Set learning and financial objectives for the team

  • Develop learning material for the field staff.

  • Design training courses, coaching sessions, and other role-playing activities.

  • Establish training needs by observing entrepreneurs, studying sales performance, and reports

  • Act as a consultant to field coaches and provide helpful advice on coping with job-related challenges

  • Identify individual and team training needs

  • Provide input and ideas into educational material, including presentations, sales scripts, and case studies

  • Gather feedback on all training programs from trainees, managers, and instructors

  • Set annual learning and development objectives for the coaching team

  • Maintain updated records of educational curriculum and material

  • Evaluate employees’ performance after each training

  • Monitor costs of training programs


This is over and above the following;

  • Establish relationships with new customers

  • maintain and grow relationships with existing customers

  • strive to improve customer satisfaction through excellent customer service

  • identify and respond to client needs

  • keep a high level of knowledge about existing products and services, and learn about new products and services as they come in

  • follow up on customer orders as necessary

  • anticipate the needs of clients and address them accordingly

  • meet with customers to determine their specific needs and wants, making suggestions as appropriate


KPI’s:

  • Job created per area

  • Sales made per area

  • Delivery Timelines of the project and performance of the area team

  • Project-specific KPIs to be agreed upon between Yebo Fresh and the client

  • Audit passes and data integrity Education:

  • BS / Diploma in Human Resources, Marketing, or other related fields.

  • 2 years of work experience as a Sales Coach or Sales Trainer.

  • Professional certifications in sales training like Certified Inside Sales Professional (CISP), and Certified Sales & Marketing Professional will be an advantage.

  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Knowledge of Google Suites is an advantage

  • Knowledge of financial processes (e.g. invoicing and budgeting Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of the sales and entrepreneurial process and its best practices.

  • Familiarity with high-performance management methods.

  • Excellent presentation and coaching skills.

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Familiar with e-learning platforms and role-playing activities.

  • A keen eye for detail

  • Affinity and experience with Township business is compulsory

  • Affinity and experience owning or working in restaurants and the beauty industry

  • Must be able to speak a South African native language and English fluently to engage with our customers and all levels of the organization clearly and comfortably – the ability to speak an additional language is an advantage

  • You must have a deep understanding of township dynamics and be fully comfortable operating in a township environment, as you will be spending a lot of time on the ground

  • A valid driver’s license and (access to) a car.

  • A background in FMCG, food, or retail is an advantage

  • An understanding and experience with digital/online marketing and sales are advantageous.

Contract Type: Permanent Employment Contract with a 3-month probationary period. Work location: Cape Town or Johannesburg East Rand. Combination of work from home and office-based with at least three days a week spent in the offices/ in trade
